  Saturated Angel and the Trailmix Salesman is the first album by Via Ferrata. In creating the album, we had no plans or ideas. Our only intention was to capture raw, unfiltered emotions based entirely in the feelings of the moment when the pieces were created.
  Taking inspiration from dadaism, leftist politics, metaphysics, the human condition, and the present moment, we gathered once weekly to record improvised expressionist pieces and upload them to Bandcamp. These songs were then condensed to their strongest moments and released as the album now before you.
  With the exception of the opening track, (composed and recorded during the stay-at-home period, weeks before we decided to make the record) every song here was recorded in 1-2 improvised takes, live in a basement, with one microphone in the center of the room, running straight into this laptop, using free recording software. Any expression was welcome. Any feeling was welcome. The use of any instrument in the room was welcome, and anything could happen. It was perfect catharsis, and great fun. Saturated Angel and the Trailmix Salesman is a product of immense frustration and stress, and similarly exists as a celebration of its release. It is fun, it is angry, it is tense, it is joyous, and it is honest. We hope that listeners recognize these feelings in themselves and in our music, a familiarity in the tension, an understanding of its barbarity, a will to face the challenges ahead, and a distinct joy in conquering them with us. ... more
